Is Ebb free?
Yes. There are no paid tiers, in-app purchases or ads. Ebb is proudly maintained by LYF Mail.
Does Ebb sell or share my data?
No. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we have no advertising partners. Your cycle entries are not on our servers in the first place.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser’s IndexedDB on your own device. There is no cycle database on the server.
Do I need to create an account?
No email or phone is required. Ebb generates a local cryptographic identity on your device and you choose a display name.
What can your server see?
Standard web-request details (such as IP address and the page requested), a functional session cookie while you are signed in, sign-in/out security log entries, and short-lived connection-setup messages for Partner Sync. Not your cycle entries. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
How are predictions calculated?
With the calendar method: Ebb averages your logged cycle and period lengths and estimates ovulation about 14 days before the next expected period. The fertile window is estimated around that day. It is an estimate only.
Can I use Ebb to avoid pregnancy?
No. Ebb is not contraception and must not be relied upon to prevent pregnancy. Speak with a clinician about methods that suit you.
My cycle is irregular. Will Ebb still work?
You can log and review everything, but predictions are less reliable with irregular cycles. Consider sharing an export with your doctor.
How does Partner Sync work?
It is opt-in. You and your partner connect directly (peer-to-peer over WebRTC) using a short code and choose what to share, such as fertile-window timing. Either person can disconnect at any time.
What if I lose my phone or clear my browser data?
Because there is no cloud copy, local data can be lost with the device or browser storage. Regularly use Export and the identity backup in Settings.
How do I move to a new device?
Back up your identity in Settings, export your data (CSV or QR), then restore on the new device.
Does Ebb work offline?
Yes. After the first visit, a service worker lets Ebb open and work without a connection.
How do I install Ebb?
Tap “Install” on the website (Chrome, Edge and Android), or in Safari on iPhone/iPad tap Share → Add to Home Screen. No app store is involved.
How do I delete my data?
Use the wipe or retention options in Settings, or clear this site’s data in your browser. Local deletion is permanent.
Is Ebb open source?
The code is published on GitHub so it can be inspected. See the Open Source page.
How do I report a security problem?
Email ebb@lyfmail.com with details. Please do not include personal health data.
